In Mexico, farmers use 4 HP engines to run irrigation pumps. Gasoline can cost roughly around $1,500 per year plus the maintenance cost. The project scope is to design, build, and test a portable solar power irrigation pumping system. It will only need to work in full sunlight and it will be brought home at night, therefore it will need to be transported. The cost for this solar irrigation pump will be as low as possible and producible on a scale of 10X units.
