Our 9th ESW-National Annual Conference will be held April 10th-13th, 2014, in Evanston, IL. It will be hosted by Northwestern University, with help from ESW-IIT. Integrating ESW-NU's annual NU Summit on Sustainability (NUSOS) on Friday with workshops and in-depth discussions on Saturday & Sunday, the conference will focus on how innovative entrepreneurial ideas - both traditional and social - can help to implement a sustainable world.
This year's conference is targeted not only at our ESW student members, but at faculty, professionals, and any students interested in making a better world. If you've never engaged with ESW before, this is a great time and place to start! Some examples:
For Professionals: career-focused workshops, career fair, and dedicated networking time (and if there's something else you're looking for, let us know). Workshops in partnership with the local USGBC Emerging Professionals chapter and Dayaway Careers.
For Faculty: Moderated faculty-to-faculty discussions on issues of teaching or incorporating sustainability in STEM, and the first WPSE summit - help choose next year's wicked problem!
For Everyone: Presentations on great projects (ESW or not) on campus, in the community, internationally, and in educational outreach (abstract submission here). Design workshops and one from IBM's Smarter Planet initiative. A national community with interests you share. A new network to hook into, and new friends.
Beyond these specific aspects, expect to meet passionate, talented people from around the country, talk with companies pursuing sustainability (want to sponsor and be there?), and be exposed to the latest and greatest in innovative ideas for building a better world.
More information on the conference is available via the NUSOS website at www.nusos.org. If you're interested in participating in the conference or have questions, please contact Events Coordinator Judy Lao at email@example.com. If you're interested in helping make the conference a reality, please take a look at our Sponsor Brochure for more information. We hope to see you and everyone you care to bring in Evanston in April!
Our Annual Conference would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. If your organization is interested in supporting this event and networking with top technical students from around the country, check out our Sponsor Brochure!
