SEED Incubation Fund

The SEED Incubation Fund is a new initiative by ESW. The ESW National Office is hoping to incubate new overseas projects developed by our collegiate chapters in the U.S.

Chapters that are in the process of developing overseas projects are encouraged to submit a project proposal form to become eligible for incubation funding. This funding is to be used to help the collegiate chapter develop the project into a self-sustaining SEED Program site.

Which type of proposal should be submitted?

♦  Project Pre-Proposals are 1-3 page summaries describing the proposed chapter, partner organization, and project on which they will collaborate. The purpose of the Pre-Proposal is to succinctly put forth a project idea before any commitments have been made by either the partner organization or ESW to determine whether it meets the basic ESW project criteria.

♦  Project Pre-proposals should be submitted only if the chapter and partner organization have not worked together previously.  Otherwise, chapters may skip to the Field Assessment.

♦  Field Assessments are often needed to gain the local knowledge and perspectives that enable accurate evaluation of a potential project and to prepare a detailed project definition. After a Pre-Proposal is submitted and it is agreed that the project concept warrants further development, then a field assessment is considered as the next step.

♦  Field Assessments should be submitted if the chapter has worked in conjunction with the project partner (via a course or research project) but not yet traveled overseas to work with the project partner.  If the chapter has already conducted extensive overseas work, then the chapter may skip to the Full Project Proposal.
